The FLYght Duo doesn't point its UV LEDs at the room. They face inward, onto the patented bioVE+ board — and the board is what lights the room, casting UV back outward as a broad, even glow rather than the hard direct glare of a conventional trap. Flies respond to that reflected light, and the board's dual 365 nm and 480 nm output is what does the attracting.

That makes the board the working part of the trap, not an accessory. It carries no mercury and no fluorescent tube, so there is no bulb to change and nothing hazardous to dispose of — the board itself is biodegradable. Replace it every six months and the unit keeps catching at full strength.
